Mailbox not closed properly

Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.

I exit outlook 2003 as recommenend and wait for all disk activity to cease
to ensure completion. Then re-load Outlook 2003 and the error message says
"the mailbox for Martin Griffiths was not closed properly" It then reports
that it will take 50 seconds to complete, but takes upto 10 minutes before I
finally get into outlook. This happens in cached and not cached modes. I have
exported all my folders into a pst file, deleted the mailbox and recreated
and imported again, still the same.
