Mailing labels using shared contact folder

I am trying to create mailing labels for contacts in a contact folder that my
boss has given me permission to share. When I try to select the shared
folder as my data source, I am only given the option of choosing my Contacts
folder. Is it possible to create labels from shared contact folders?
