mailing labels with numerous destinations,

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

How to print list of labels where quantities to same destination vary; i.e., 30 to one location to be listed as 1 of 30; 2 of 30; etc. the next location may have 5. Long list of destinations on excel.
No problem in mail merge, but it only lists each destination one time and goes to the next excel line. Would like to print the number needed as shown in column that lists # of boxes to go to that destination.....Has anyone done this?

Is there a discernable criteria for determining how many copies of each
location's label needs to be reprinted? If so you may be able to use Mail
Merge fields (such as NextIf) but I tend to think it might require more than
that. I've not done anything like that in quite a while & IIRC it required
some VBA - which isn't supported in Office 2008 apps. I don't see how Apple
Script would help, but then I don't know Apple Script well enough to say.

If it's an arbitrary determinant (6 for him, 8 for her, 4 for them) then
automating it is pretty much out of the question even with VBA or Apple
Script.
