My work email/calendar is on Entourage, and I'm a developer with many
alert mailing lists which I must monitor but automatically mark as
'read' and move to specific subfolders. The most aggravating thing is
that the dock icon shows the mail alert (little yellow envelope) even
for this mail which has been filtered, marked as read, and moved out of
the inbox.
Since I get new mail in the alert lists once per minute, it basically
ALWAYS looks like i have new mail, and obviously I'd prefer to only see
the yellow envelope when I have new, unread mail in my inbox.
I do see message previews pop up only for the new mail which I want to
know about, but I don't want to have to look over to the corner of my
screen when the flag comes up to see if it's a real mail.. This works
fine in Apple's Mail app, but I would like to try sticking with
Entourage since it is the app supported by our Systems Admin and the
calendar feature is working well for me.
Any advice?
Is it just quirky?
