Hi Nancy
Mail maerge is adding a second first name and placing it on the second line for
labels which skews evrything else. Have you evrheard of this?Never heard of anything like it.
In my database which is so many columns wide, that printed out it takes four
sheets, I do have the students name and first name repeated at the beginning of
each sheet....
but that shouldnt'be a problem since I can easilty see which colum to use. I
use the first two and then for the addresses which are at the end I pick those...Since I didn't get any response to the questions in my first reply I'll try
rephrasing and see if that helps.

In the main merge document, press Alt+F9 so that you can see the FIELD CODES for
the merge fields. Can you see what field code is delivering the "odd"
information?

One thing that does occur to me is that, somehow, a FirstName field has gotten
inserted into the field codes of the merge field on that second line. This can
happen, and you can't do anything to "pull it apart" once it does, short of
deleting the fields on that line and reinserting them. Try that?

And what, please, is the "BU" you refer to in your original posting?
