Mailmerge Access Data with Word Document

C

I have 10 different documents that I enter almost the same data in each
document. So I have a merge set up that when I enter the info in Access
2005, it inserts the data into my word documents. However, sometimes, say
the documents for Mr. Smith, I need to customize a part of the document. I
want to be able to customize Mr. Smith's documents while keeping the rest of
the records in tact. I also want to save Mr. Smith's documents alone but if
Mr. Smith's data changes, I want it to update the docs.

Thank you for the help!

I have a nice working example that does what you want.

However:
I also want to save Mr. Smith's documents alone but if
Mr. Smith's data changes, I want it to update the docs.

My example does not handle the above well. However, if you create any "new"
documents, then the data will update. The problem with what you ask is you
would need a constant connection to the database if you want OLD EXISTING
documents to update (I don't think that is a good idea, as then you can't
back up the documents to a cd, or email them etc.).

I should add it is *possible* to have the old documents update (eg: you
change a address), but I would recommended that you leave the old existing
documents alone. (any new documents you create will update with new
information anyway).

You can find my example here, and that sample of mine even manages templates
for you. Give the super easy merge a try here:
