Mailmerge Arrives with Attachment or Double Image

I've created a flyer in Powerpoint 2003, and saved it as a .jpg file. Then I
went into Word 2003 and pasted it in a new document. I've found that when I
do an mailmerge to email (through MS Word 2003), with just the .jpg file in
it, the recipient sees what I want him/her to see, except that the text
looks a little fuzzy when view the actual email. On the other hand, if I
include any text outside the .jpg file, the email arrives with both the .jpg
in the body of the email as well as an attachment, OR is arrives with 2
identical .jpg files, one above the other, making the email twice the size
that it needs to be.

Also, when it's viewed by someone that is set up to just read as plain text,
the .jpg file is displayed, but there are some formatting hieroglyphics on
the first couple of lines of the body of the email. Can that be eliminated?

And another thing ... does anyone know if there is a way to control this so
that the .jpg file is not going out twice per email when I include text in
the body of the document?

Thanks,

Use the method in the article "Mail Merge to E-mail with Attachments" at

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/MergeWithAttachments.htm

to send the original file as an attachment to an email merge.

I guess I didn't get my point across. I "do not" want the .jpg to go as an
attachment. I just want it to display in the body of the email. But, setting
up the merge, if I add any text in addition to the .jpg, then it sends 2
..jpgs. One is displayed, the other is attached. I'm trying to keep the
download to a minimum.
