Can i select all letters#1 and create a mailmerge directly from there.

Tasks? No. Outlook can only send contact data to Word for a mail merge.

i know, but the task is connected to a contact. so why can't we simply have
the opportunity to click on the task or a group of task and have the option
to click 'send a letter' to this/those contact(s) with a merge to the
printer.

Maximiser8 doe's it

Outlook isn't Maximiser, but you already knew that.

Outlook also is not a relational database. Although it does store information about related contacts in a task, because it is not a relational database, there's no possibility of a "query" that would return contact address information based on tasks.

What you want to do with Outlook tasks would be possible only with a fair amount of custom programming.
