Mailmerge - how to insert conditional IFs

Hi all,

I am trying to fix the dreaded "can't suppress blank lines" problem in
Word 2002/XP. I've already added back the old "mailmerge helper"
where there's a radio button to suppress the blank lines - no use.
Now, I want to try to do what I've seen mentioned here and
conditionally include the field. However, I can't figure out how to
insert the conditional fields and then insert the Mergefields inside
the IF in Word 2002!

Someone please help. I'm sure I can figure out the logic part - I've
done this a lot in earlier versions.

Use the Insert Word Fields facility to set up the condition, and to begin
with just use True and False as the information to be inserted depending
upon whether the condition is met. Then in the document, press Alt+F9 to
toggle on the display of the field codes and replace the True and False with
the appropriate mergefield.

Turns out I didn't have to do the conditional logic after all. I was
able to suppress the blank lines by using the \f switch. So my
statement says this:

{MERGEFIELD Address 2 \f}

Thanks for the help, though. I'll need that later, I'm sure.

I just found a work around...if you use the "Insert Fields" to manually enter the fields rather than using the "Address Block", blank lines are automatically suppresed.
