MailMerge into a table problem

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me.

I have written a dll in VB6 which performs mail merge into
a word document. When the mergefied is in a table I get
the following result:

mergefield name: <<TestField>>
text to be inserted: Testing
after mailmerge: Testingd>>
what it should be: Testing

This only happens when I try and mailmerge within a table
otherwise it is fine.

Has anyone got any ideas/suggestions?

Not sure it makes any difference, but which version of Word is this?

Assuming there is no extra "d>>" lurking in the mail merge main document, is
the "d>>" just visible on screen, or does it appear in print preview and
print as well? If it's just on screen, there could be a problem with the
video driver.
