Mailmerge item in Tools pulldown

This is Word 2000. Under the 'Tools' pull-down should
appear the 'Mail Merge...' item. It does not!
The only weird thing about this setup is that it has
Office 97: Excel, Powerpoint,... and Word 2000.

Any clues, guys (and girls)?

Thanks.

It sounds to me as if Word might have been installed as part of the Works Suite? That would explain why 1) you have a different version and 2) the mail merge menu would be missing.

If this was the case, you need to make sure that
- the Works Suite Addin for Word has been uninstalled (Same place you install/remove applications in the Control Panel)
- you add the mail merge entry back in via Tools/Customize/Commands

When we converted from 2000 to XP the Mail Merge on the
drop down was GONE as well. I searched for it
under "Tools - Customize, etc", found it and dragged it
into my toolbar.
