Mailmerge Label Alignmnet problem

M

Marc Whisker

Hi,
I am using mailmerge in Word XP and I have the document
ready to go. I have selected the correct label type and
verified the measurements of each lapel, and pitch.

The problem I am having is that the first row prints
correctly but as the document goes through the printer
names and address's are creeping down on each subsequent
label, so that the last label actually prints half on one
label and the remaining half on the next label. Has
anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Marc,

The two most common causes for text on labels not aligning
properly are
1. Faulty "label wizard". Updating the software from the
*label manufacturer's* website (Avery, for example) usually
solves that. This was mostly a problem with certain versions
of Word (2000 was a big one, as best as I can recall)

2. The printer-driver is not working correctly. This is
defintely a general problem with Word 2002, where a number
of things changed. You might try checking the website of
your printer's manufacturer for an updated printer-driver.

And, if you're currently merging directly to the printer,
you might see if you get anything different if you first
merge to a new document, then print that (also check print
preview)
