Unfortunately, I have no idea which Registry key would be responsible for this particular setting. Generally, the DATA key for Word is suspect for a lot of things. You might try backing that up, then deleting it. When Word is restarted, it will generate an installation default for the key. See if the option is available, then. If it is, the user will just have to reset a lot of options, but can work normallly. If it's not, then you may have to move the user to a new profile...
