Do you have any rules set? Are you sure you are replying to the sender and
not yourself?

Open the Progress window. Toggle the triangle so you can see what's going
on. Send a message. Can you see that it's sent? Bcc yourself so you can
verify that it was sent.

I just tried what you suggested. In the progress window its shown as if its actully being sent but even if i bcc myself mail never gets to inbox. I tried the same thing wit apple mail and works fine...

I checked with my e mail server and the weird thing is e mails sent from entourage never even make it to the qeue on it... Its as if something is blocking e mails to reach the server... but its not the isp, for if it was apple mail would be having the same issue and its not

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

It has to be the way you have the account setup. Who is your ISP? We have
several examples for account setup on the Entourage Help Page.

Account Setup

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/accounts/index.html>

You should be getting an error if they do not send.

My pop and smtp is configured ok because originally it worked fine. And same configuration works on apple mail and other pcs. my pop and stmp are not linked to my isp because they connetc to my web pages server.

The only thing i can say is that when configured the acct on apple mail it promt me to give ok an a window for authentification. When i set it up in entourage it never happened. Could it be that? that my stmp needs a one time autentification and entourage is nos supported for this?

Go to Entourage > Account Settings... and double-click on the account from
which you are sending. Click on Advanced Sending and click the box labeled
SMTP server requires authorization.

Something obviously changed recently. Either your SMTP server started
requiring authentication, or you started accessing it from a different ISP.

I am surprised, however, that you haven't gotten any error messages. Have
you checked the Error Log (under the Window menu)? Note that quitting
Entourage empties the log, so be sure you try to send before checking the
log.

It sounds like your ISP installed a security server upgrade and you now
require authentication.

I have some accounts like this. You can always use your IPS as the SMTP for
sending since it goes through their server. Other wise you'll need to use
the correct authentication required.

Comcast is my ISP, but I have an account with pair.com for my web site. I
can use smtp.comcast.net or relay.pair.com using

SMTP require secure connection (SSL)
Override default SMTP port 2525

Some will require authentication. The should have this info on their site,
but with all the recent server upgrades some ISPs don't update in a timely
manner. Call them. You are paying for their service.

Entourage does have a verify but it depends on which method you used to
setup the account. The account Setup Assistant will verify, but opening the
account to enter the data manually will not verify. What's confusing is if
it doesn't verify, it doesn't help you know what to change.

Hope this helps!

I tried checking that option but when tryingo to send e mails i get an error message saying entourage does not suppot the verification method... Could the issue rely on this fact.. tath my smtp requires an autentification that entourage is not supporting?? is there any way to solve this???

Diane,

I actually had to set it up manually but in the end i was propted to verify settings which i did and everything was set as Ok. I have no error logs or anything.... could it be the verification required by the smtp isnt supported by entourage... is there a way to solve this... can i change the verification method entourage uses?? just like i would with apple mail?? ,

Because there are several verification options sometimes it's hard to find
the right combo. Entourage supports all so that's not the problem.

Did you try your ISP instead of your web server?

Diane,

As a matter of fact i did, and it still didnt work. i checked with my isp and everything is working on their part. Im sure this issue doesnt rely on them cause if that was the case i shouldnt be able to even receive mails which i do.

Is there any chance my smtp isnt compatible with mac o that its not compatible with something???
