I am still a bit of a newby to this, so I may have missed something, and I would appreciate any advice anyone can give
I have an org chart with some 400 names (and growing) that I originally built from MS Access (where I have a lot of other data about the employees). My org chart is linked to the Access table so I can pick up updates. My Master DB is Access, so I have disabled updates and deletes of my Access table data from within Visio.
I can pick up changes for the custom shapes without any problem (fantastic feature!). However, I don't appear to be able to pick up any deletions or additions of names (ie Access table records). Since our organisation is quite dynamic, we have a fair number of leavers and joiners, and I had hoped that Visio would update my existing org chart accordingly
So far, I haven't been able to figure out any automatic way to do this - - only way seems to be to create a second org chart, then compare this with the original one, and apply the changes manually
Am I missing a trick, or is this how it's meant to work
Thanks in advance for any help
