I'm a little new at how resources are impacting in the Global Resource pool
in Project Server. Our users must account for their time and we have a
'Gerneral Maintenance' project for which they log time for their normal/daily
maintenance tasks. We also need to set an estimated resource allocation
level for each resource that works on these general maintenance tasks. We
launched Project Server just a few months ago and users have been logging
time to this project. However, we now want to change the tasks within this
project to have a starting date of Jan 1 with an ending date of Dec 31. I
have no problem changing the task type = Fixed Duration, reseting the hours
to 0, adding the resources etc. But does anyone know what happens to the time
logged thus far, because of the calculation it factors the existing 'Actual
Hours' into the estimate. I'm also not sure how Project Server resource
allocation views this change. Any help would be appreciated.
