Major Revision Error in Word 2003

I need help!! There appears to be a bug with revisions. I'm a long time
Word user and have not encountered this problem before. When I open my
documents, I get a Show Repairs pop up with Revision Data Removed. The
revision marks are gone, but when I search for them, the program takes me to
where the revision data was removed. It appears that the revision is there,
but the markings have vanished. I've been re-entering the changes in order
to get them to show up again with mixed results. I save the document and
close it. Sometimes when I open it the revisions are there and sometimes I
get the same pop up and have to make the revisions again. Today, the
document isn't accepting revisions at all. I make them and when I save, they
disappear. I have to post documents on our company's website that show users
what was changed. Our internal tech support isn't helpful. I need to get
this issue resolved ASAP. Thanks.

Hi TWriter

Is this Word 2003? If this were my document, I'd proceed as follows:

1. Make a backup in a safe place, so you have something to come back to you
if you need it.

2. If Word is trying to repair your document, then I would suspect
corruption and follow the advice at
How can I recover a corrupt document or template - and why did it become
corrupt?
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm

To retain the revisions when you copy and paste, turn *off* track changes in
both the donor and recipient documents.

3. Close Word and re-open the document. If there were several sections with
different headers and footers, you may need to re-create them.

4. If this is a document you work on over a long period of time, make sure
you make a backup at least once a day.

Hope this helps.
