make a 45° end on a retangle that maintains 45° when resized

I can figure out how to make the ends and how to fragment the shapes so I end
up with a rectangle with 45° on each end... but when I resize the retangle it
changes the 45° angle. Any help of suggestion would help out a lot.

Thanks!
Eric

Format -> Protection -> Aspect Ratio

you will need to do something a lot more complicated in the
shapesheet.

Thanks for the Reply Paul. I did try locking the aspect Ratio but that
dosen't give me exactly what I need. So I needto look up howto edit the shape
sheet?

I thought I remembered this problem. David Edson covers it in chapter two of
his book.
