hello,

we have variouse projects running in our MS PROJECT SERVER
installation. some resources have up to 20 tasks to which
they are assined and can book on in theri PWA task view.
We would like to have the project that are accomplisched
dissapear from the individuals PWA task view... how can
that be done?
if the resources reject the task it will reapear, next
login
if i delet the resource from the task it will still be
visible in PWA but crossed out

what other posibilities are there???

what about marking the task as accomplished? i believe
that changes the actual houres booked on the task - and
this must not happen!!! any other ideas?
i can't delet the whole project since i still need the
times booked - even on past projects...

i really appreciate your help

thanks

david

Why don't you ask the resource to hide the task. They have a option to hide a
task from PWA. On task timesheet view.

I hope this helps.

If the project is completed, you can remove the tasks from each project team
member's timesheet page by using a trick espoused by several members of our
newsgroup community. Here's how:

1. Open the completed project
2. Click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise
3. Change the Booking type for each project team member to Proposed and
click OK
4. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information
5. Save and close the project

If the project is still is not complete and is still in production, then you
should ask your team members to hide completed tasks as indicated in
Guarav's post. Hope this helps.

Hello Guarav, Hello Dale,

thanks for your posts - i will try them... but i have two
short question left...
1. what happenes to the actuals booked on the project if i
change the resources to "Proposed"? will they still be in
the system and displayed when i need them???
2. how can the resource hide her or his tasks that are
accomplished??? i only know of the reject option which
does not really work! is that what you suggested?

thanks

You will not lose the actuals. To hide a task, select the task in the
timesheet view of PWA and click the Hide button. Hope this helps.

It sounds like your Project Server administrator has denied the Hide
function. He/she should re-enable this feature so that your people can use
it. Hope this helps.

Dale,

I learned something new today "proposed" vs "committed". I have several
closed projects where the tasks were still appearing on team members'
timesheets ("All Tasks") view. Today, I changed the Booking Type to
"Proposed" and then Collaborate - Publish - All Information. Unfortunately,
the tasks were still appearing on the team members' Timesheet. I went back
to the project and highlighted all the tasks, then Collaborate - Publish -
Republish Assignment - Overwrite actual work .... Now the tasks are gone!

I hope this info helps someone.
