make number go one color if >0, another color if <0

In Excel, how can I make a color change for a number in a cell if it goes
from <0 to >0? I am tracking the difference between a reference number and a
second constantly updated, cumulative, number; the difference between the two
numbers starts out negative, but may become positive at some point; I'd lile
to monitor the point of change by noticing a color difference.
