Make reports showing main task with subtasks?

I have a project calendar with numerous inserted projects, I would like to
make a report showing the main project with its subtask under my whole master
project.
Does anyone know how I can do this? Right now it just shows all tasks.
Thanks!!!

JRT,
You mention a calendar which leads me to think you are looking at the
Calendar view. That particular view is extremely limited in what it can
show, simply due to the space available. If you are really talking about
some other view (e.g. Gantt Chart), then what kind of "report" are you
seeking? The normal method of showing a master with inserted subprojects
is a Gantt Chart view.

Also for your reference you mention a "main task with subtasks". I think
what you really mean is a summary line with subtasks. A summary line is
NOT a task, it is simply a summary of data for the subtasks under it.

Hi JRT,

I assume you are looking at the Calendar View? The display of tasks in
the Calendar view is partially driven by which tasks are displayed in
the Gantt Chart view. Return to the Gantt chart view, click the Show
button in the Formatting toolbar, and select Outline Level 1. The Gantt
Chart View should now show just the inserted project summary tasks.
Return to the Calendar view, and choose Format > Bar Styles. Select the
Project Summary Task Type and change the bar type, pattern, and color as
you need.

You may also find it helpful to display the Project Summary Task for the
master project as well. Go to Tools > Options, view tab. Enable the
"Project Summary" task on that tab.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie
