Make some text NOT print

J

John Jacobs

Is it possible to have some arbitrary text in a document NOT print? I
want to have some descriptive text near a field explaining what goes in
the field, but don't want the descriptive text to appear on the paper
when printed.

(Word 2000 and higher.)

Thanks, John

If you set Word to make hidden text visible, by using the menu TOOLS,
OPTIONS, VIEW you can format the explanatory text as hidden and it will
not print, while remaining visible on the screen.

You can also set the explanatory text inside a COMMENT (use the menu,
INSERT, COMMENT), which will not print so long as the reviewing toolbar
is set to show final

I believe it may also be possible to set the text inside a NOMACRO
button.
