Make text visible after klik on button or text

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Well I'm stuck here with a presentation where I need for text to appear after the text itself or a button is pressed.
There are multiple text items/buttons on one slide and the order of appearance is not fixed but dependent on the answers from the audience.
I'm stuck here because I cannot seem to get a macro (I am a former windows office user) running.
Any ideas on how to fix this is welcome!
thx,
Bart

Hi Bart;

You won't have any success with a macro because there is no VBA in Office
2008. Whether you can accomplish what you're trying to do with Apple Script
I don't know. I doubt it because the Animation Effects execute in a
sequential order established when they're created, not randomly selectable
when the slide is displayed.

The only suggestion I can offer is that each of the "responses" be separated
onto individual Hidden slides. Use another "control panel" slide with Action
Settings or Action Buttons to link to the respective Hidden slides & include
a button on each of the Hidden slides to return to the control panel.

See PPT Help on the topic: Insert a navigation button

Keep in mind that you can select any text string or object & assign an
Action Setting to it, you don't have to use the built-in buttons.

Bob,

Triggers would do it, but are there no triggers in PPT 2008?

If not, do triggers added in Windows versions work in 2008?

Hi

I don't think you need a macro to do this.

Just make a copy of the slide.

On the original slide, put a button and hyperlink to the second slide,
which has the added content.

Hi Steve;

I dug deeply enough into PPT 2003/2007 Custom Animation to find what you're
referring to :) But unfortunately PPT 2008 stops short of that capability.

Darn. Triggers allow so many neat effects that'd otherwise require macros, and
they're perfect for this kind of thing.

They allow you to trigger an animation when a specific shape is clicked (the shape
the animation is applied to or some other shape) rather than on any ol' slide
click. IOW, the animations can trigger in any order.

Yeah, that [as well as a few dozen other missing pieces] is on the "Wish
List"... Maybe next release... Or the next... Or the next... ;-)
