I'm trying to save some files to a CD RW out of Word. Talk about screwed up!
That has to be the most difficult thing to work with since drum brakes.
Have you ever tried to change the pads on drum brakes? Ask your dad. It's
frustrating. I ought to be able to just go to File, Save As, E:, enter a
file name and go for it. OH, NO!!! I'm told that the CD is not ready for
use. How the #### do I get it ready for use? It's just a CD, for crying out
loud. It doesn't have any switches or knobs. There is nothing to choose.
So I send the file to the E drive. Now it saves as a read only file. I
don't want a read only file. I just want a regular old vanilla file that I
CAN SAVE OR WRITE OVER OR DO WHAT I WANT TO DO WITHOUT SOME TECHIE WHO THINKS
HE HAS A GREAT IDEA FORCING ME INTO A BOX I CAN'T GET OUT OF BECAUSE I HAVE
NO IDEA WHY IT DOES THAT OR HOW TO OVERRIDE IT. See, the instructions on the
help menu DON'T WORK. Once it's on there you can't remove the read only
attribute because...guess what...IT'S A READ ONLY FILE.
