I used to own a retail computer store. I have thousands of dollars worth of
micro soft products. My EX wife was the computer tech. before she took off
with the new lap top I bought her she did allot of damage to many of my soft
ware programs. Like taking one disc out of each program or destroying the
most important disc. I finally found out she had registered many of the
programs I paid for to her personal name rather than the business name they
were purchased for. I bought the entire microsoft bundle for microsoft office
sweet training, including the video tapes and all of the manuals for the
purpose of training clients in microsoft software use. I am missing only one
of the 3.5 inch discs and that disc is the one it calls for everytime I need
or want to change something. What can I do to get that disc? I have micro
soft office training windows 3.1, word, excel, power point, access, Office 97
up grade and many other microsoft products.
As soon as I bought my Ex wife a new State of the art lap top she destroyed
my business and took off with my children and the lap top. Karma caught up
with her, about two months after she left she was in a car accident that
nearly killed her and destroyed her computer. It had to be Karma because the
children were not with her in the accident.
So here I sit with tons of programs that will not work properly because she
was the expert and I was the wallet. She trained for six years to be a
computer consultant that I paid for. Since she left me she has remarried
twice and is now on husband number five. I feel lucky to be rid of her, she
only socked it to me for 216,000 dollars. Now I am disabled and can not
afford to replace these programs. I have to try to find a way to fix them. I
am not very computer litterate which compounds the problems. I need help. I
have about 50 pounds of 5.25, 3.5 and Cds in software discs. I even have
colorado tapes and can not make them work. I have no idea of which programs
are registered properly and which ones are not. Everything is a mess. My
hard drive crashed and had to be replaced, the technician that transfered the
files and folders did not fix the registry and I do not know how to. very
little is working and nothing is working properly. Is there a fix all disc?
I'm runnig win 98se on an IBM Aptive 166. I know, you don't have to say it,
but I simply can not afford to get a new system and have too many folders or
saved documents to lose. There are three hard drives in this system and a 24k
modem with a whopping 48 megs of ram. My hard drives are 1.2, 2.5 and 10 gig.
There are over 58k of entries. Many very important documents that are not
replaceable because most of the originals were stolen. Long story. Can anyone
give me precise information? Thank You .
