I have just copied an Access 2003 database from my desktop (XP/Pro SP2) to my
new laptop (same op system), on which I have installed the same version of MS
Access that's running on the desktop. The db compiles fine, but the first
time I try to open one of my forms, I get "There is no object in this
control". If I respond OK, the form then opens, and opens fine thereafter,
until I open the database again. And then I proceed to get all kinds of
other errors. Same directory structure, same references, same everything I
can see, but as so frequently happens with MS what works in one place may
very well not work in another.
THERE IS NO DAMNED EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF CRAP! I"VE BEEN A SYSTEMS
DEVELOPER FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND I'M FINALLY RETIRING BECAUSE I CAN'T TAKE
THIS KIND OF MICROSOFT BUGGY SHIT ANYMORE!
