The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer will not run on Windows 95 or Windows 98 systems.
As I've said, it does run in Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, and XP. The old
Viewer download file could be used by users with Windows 95 and 98. They
would need to install it on their systems. It is available at
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Ppview97.aspx and can be included
on your CD. You could also include the Mac Viewer and Mac users would also
need to install it on their systems.
The CD, however, would only autorun successfully on Win 98 SE, ME, 2000, and
XP systems. On Mac systems it will do nothing. On Windows 95 and 98 it
will probably yield an error message because the CD will attempt to run the
new Viewer and the Viewer will issue an error which says, "The Microsoft
Office PowerPoint Viewer could not start. This version of the PowerPoint
Viewer is only supported on Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition.....".
