making additional cells appear in row

R

rightmer

here goes
I have column A, Row 2 which has the date 4/1/04 in it.
In column B, Row two, there is a blank cell for a description to be added
I have this cell WORD-WRAPPED so it can grow to show the entire description.

I have this set up for all of the cells in colum B.

Here's what I would like to do. Since I have one cell for each date, and all descriptio
cells are word wrapped, is there a condition / command to make an additional cell available to add an additional description in reference to the same date

Ex. I want to have 3 descriptions for the date 4/6/04. I want them all in seperate cells. but after the first cell, when I press enter, it goes to the next cell, but to hte left, that cell has the next date . .. any idea of what I am trying to accomplish, or how to do it

Thanks in advanc

You can *insert* a column and go "right".
OR
You can *insert* a row and go "down".

Hi Mike
I'm not enirely sure where you want to put the additional description

You can create a carriage return within the description cell by hitting the -alt- and -enter- keys at the same time. This way you could enter them in the same cell

If your issue is with the gridlines, you can turn off the gridlines under Tools>Options>View, and then use Format>Cells>Borders to create your own grid. If you prefer, you can leave the gridlines on on the screen and just remove them from your print outs, File>Page_Setup>Sheet, and uncheck Gridlines

Good Luck

Hard to tell exactly what you're looking for........maybe just highlight
Column B and right-click > Insert.............this will add a column and
cells between your dates and your descriptions on the same rows..........
