I am writing a booklet, some of which I tranasferred from my old pc to the mac. I have a variety of margins, indentations and type styles. How can I make this uniform?

Hello Judy,

You don't mention the version of Word you are using, so I'll make this more
generic.

The best way is to set up the margins and styles for your booklet as you
want it to be, then copy text from the other files and choose Edit menu =>
Paste Special => Unformatted. This will apply the same style as the
paragraph (e.g., blank paragraph) in which you have put the insertion point.
So, for example, text pasted into a paragraph styled with Body Text or
Normal will paste in as unformatted (i.e., not bold or italic etc) text with
the characteristics of Body Text or Normal. Then apply heading styles or
whatever you wish.

Cheers,

If your text is already in the new document, simply delete the section
breaks.

Everything will then adopt the default formatting of the new document, which
is stored in the Master Section Break, which is beneath the last paragraph
in the document.

When you delete a section break, the formatting of the section below it is
adopted for the current text. The first time you do this, make a copy of
the document and have a stiff drink before you start...

There will be some exciting and potentially horrifying excursions in the
formatting, until you delete the last section break, when everything will
then adopt the default formatting for the document.

Enjoy!
