Making lines break between words

B

Brian Bagnall

By default in Word, when the sentence gets to the end of a line it
doesn't split a word in half.

e.g. The quick brown fox
jumped over the log.

rather than

The quick brown fox jump-
ed over the log.

Is there a way in word to make it break the sentence/word at the end
of the line?

Sure--- Turn hyphenation on. go to Tools--.Language --> hyphenation. Check
on automatic hyphenation

OK, I can understand why you might want to use automatic hyphenation, but
why would you want to hyphenate "jumped," which is a one-syllable word?
