making my web site known

Hi,
I am new to this so please forgive me if this question has been answered. I
am day's away from publishing my web-site onto the internet. The question I
ask is, how do I make sure search engine will pick up my web site, when a
user enters a critera that matches ( more or less) my content. Where do I
put these key words in my documents or do I have to do something else.
thanks

You need to make some Metatags. There are small programs out there that
will help you optimise the metatags for your website. Then you need to
submit your details to a search engine. You can do this for free or you can
pay for it depending on what results you want.

FrontPage lets you do this easily.

Right-click on the main page and chose "Page Properties"
- then fill in "Title" (for example History of Frogs)
- then chose the "Custom" tab
- then chose "Add" from "user variables" and for "name" enter description
and for "value" enter for example A full history of frogs with photos
- then chose "Add" again and for "name" enter keywords and for "value" enter
for example frog, history, chronology
- then click "OK"

Hope this helps

Iain
