Making Project Server Viable to SharePoint Portals

My question is this: Is it possible to set up MS Project Server to provide
the ability to make individual schedule items within Project Server visible
to SharePoint portals on a given domain. Schedule items shall be visible such
that they can be added to task lists, calendars, or other web-part data views
within SharePoint. Ideally, permissions for each item shall be controlled to
the individual user level and all access shall be read-only (it shall not be
possible for an end-user to modify the Project Server schedule items).

For example, I have a page on which I keep a calendar of events/tasks that
are important to me. I wish to attach the due date of these tasks to a date
that is being maintained in the master (Project Server) schedule so that, if
the date moves, the due date of my tasks associated with that review move
automatically. In the near term, however, I'd be happy to be able to show
the date from the Project Server schedule in a calendar that I keep on my
site.

Hi MyMeaodws,

you can integrate Project Server within a MOSS environmnent and use the web
parts that Project Server provides, but in order to make SharePoint and
Project Server a seamless solution in regards to calendar or SharePoint
Tasks, the answer is no. Both Project Server and MOSS are technically still 2
seperate applications. Having said this, there is no reason why you wouldnt
be able to custom develop this abillity. I have not seen a 3rd party product
that can do this, but I can see why you would want to integrate the 2 to make
it a one solution product. Maybe next release :)

Hope this helps
