making publisher website secure

Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for the help.

I have a family website that has pictures and personal information on it,
and I want to keep it secure so only family members can use it after they do
the following:

1) Ask to create an account
2) Send an email to me with their information proving they are a family member
3) I approve the account and they can see, visit, and post

The idea is to keep fishers and pedofiles from looking pictures of my family.

Any suggestions?

You can password protect the directory/folder on the server so that only
persons with a password can see the web site and any files - photos - etc.
in that folder.

Check with your provider help files on how to password protect folders.
