Making Rectangles Visible when Publishing in MS Word

Hi

I am new to reports and have what is probably a very basic problem.

I have set up my text boxes with their relevant control sources and framed
each text box and label using the rectangle tool with a thickness of 2 point.
When I run the report the frames appear and the same if I create a pdf but
if I use the Publish with MS Word option (Tools>> Office Links) then the
rectangles disappear.

Does anyone know how to solve this? The Visible property is set to 'Yes'
and I am using MS Access 2003.

Many thanks
David

The export to Word is in RTF (Rich Text Format), and it loses all graphical
elements: lines, graphics (e.g. logo), and even check boxes.

If you do not need to edit the results you can export in Snapshot format.
Access 2007 has an add-on that lets you export in PDF format.

If you do need to edit the results in Word, you are stuck with text to
simulate the graphics. For example, you can achieve a horizontal line with a
text box filled with underscore characters, or you can use a Wingdings
character to simulate a check box as explained here:

Sorry: that's not ideal, but it is the limit.

Thanks for the response, I suspected as much when I noticed it was saved in
the rtf format. The trouble is I need to edit the output via a document
control process and they are not very database friendly.

I will work out an elaborate text based solution!

Thanks again
David
