Making the Notes screen smaller

Previously, when I would open up a note in Outlook the window was the size of
a sticky note. Now something has changed and whenever I open a note the
window takes up the whole screen and I can't find a way to make it smaller.
How do I change it back to the way it was?
I have tried chaning the size of the note in options but this only changes
the size of the icon, not the note itself.
