Making the white background of a bitmap transparent

Is it possible to make the white background of an imported bitmap
transparent so that the background show through?

One option is to save the picture as a transparent PNG
(click on the picture you want to save, press F12,
select PNG as a file format, click Save, and then make sure
that the Transparency Color check box is checked and
that the transparency color is set to white),
and then reimport it back into Visio using Insert | Picture |
From File... .

Give it a try and let us know how it worked.
