Making Word Viewer secondary viewer

I recently downloaded Word Viewer 2003 onto my Dell Demension running XP
Service Pack 3. I only downed it to read an occasional document sent to me
by someone else who has the program to create it.

Now ALL my documents open in Word viewer if I just click on Open. Then I
can't alter them as it allows me to read only.

How do I make W.V. the secondary reading program for my documents so when I
click on Open it will open with my other program?

You can right-click on any of these documents. Select the Open With option,
then down at teh bottom of teh new menu that opens up, click on Choose
Program. When you find your primary program, be sure to check, at the
bottom, the box that says "Always use the selected program." That should do
it.
