malformed MIME files from Outlook Exchange Client

I've got several users who send emails to clients w/ attachments, or,
they send them to one of our account people, running XP, who then fwd.
them on to the clients. When this happens, the emails end up getting
blocked by our Gateway, a Symantec Anti-Virus for Gateways v3.5, for
being malformed MIME attachments

If the XP user takes the attahcments, saves them to their drives, and
then, attach them / send them to the client, they don't get stopped.

It's driving me and my counterpart nuts! nuts I tell ya.
