Malfunction in Office X = Excel

I have encountered a problem in Excel. am running Panther and Microsoft
Office X with all upgrades. When I open Excel or an Excel file, multiple
worksheets open, one on top of the next. the message reads: File not loaded
completely." Excel will not quit from the menu with these pages open. Each
one must be closed and the 'do not save' button clicked. Sometimes the
worksheets are titled AOL or Quicktime or other programs....what's going
on? Can it be fixed? I've removed Office X and reloaded and it still does it.

First, check Excel/Preferences/General and remove any paths from your
Alternate Startup file textbox.

Any files in you Startup folder (Microsoft Office
X:Office:Startup:Excel) or an alternate startup folder will be opened on
XL's start, so if the first suggestion doesn't help, remove any
extraneous file from the Startup folder.

Finally - If you'd removed Office completely, you wouldn't have this
problem. When removing Office, always use the Remove Office application
that comes in the Value Pack folder of your install CD. That way your
preferences and settings will be deleted as well.

Make sure that you've applied the Office 10.1.2, 10.1.4 and 10.1.5
updaters available from MacTopia downloads:
