Manage Deliverables Error

Jason

Please help, just migrated to Project Server 2007. I was told to post in the
server section.

When I click on Collaborate > Manage Deliverables in the Project 2007 client,

It fails with a couple of script errors:

-------------------------------
Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 126
Char: 1
Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 80049c42.
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12\1033\PJINT.DLL/commitments_main.htm

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
---------------------------------------
Line: 466
Char: 4
Error: 'm_deliverableDocument' is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12\1033\PJINT.DLL/commitments_main.htm
----------------------------------------------

Any ideas? It is on all projects. I have administrative rights to PWA

Thanks

have the wss sites been created ?

Have you customised the deliverable list in the wss site ?

Does wss sync run through the queue upon project publish (without error) ?

Does this happen on all machines or is it isolated to one machine/user

Yes, everything completes succesfully. Even if I create a project from
scratch, publish and create a WSS site, the manage deliverables still does
not work. I can access the deliverables list from the WSS site, but I cannot
from within MS Project.

Jason, I saw this exact same behavior that you have described here, and I
successfully fixed it, but I can't tell you precisely how. The script error
you see is a permissions issue. We had turned off the workspaces permissions
and now want to re-enable this for use with deliverables. In order to enable
workspaces, I went back and took all of the 'deny's' out of our security
templates. I had forgotten to apply those templates to the corresponding
categories however. After I did that, the script error went away and I could
create deliverable dependencies. I suggest you go back and look at your
categories and groups and specifically search for any tricky 'deny'
checkboxes you may have lingering around! Even as an admin these will prevent
you from creating the correct links.
Good Luck,
Jane

Hi, just reporting in that I AGAIN saw this error, though we have all of our
now permissions set correctly. It turned out that the project file was out of
sync with the server because we had added a new custom project field. Once I
re-saved the project to the server (after updating the field in question via
Project>project information), the message went away and I could reconnect my
deliverables. Apparently the deliverables don't disappear, but the links to
the deliverables disappear when you update the server with new custom fields!

Jane,

You were right in our case, it was a permissions issue. After migration, I
was using the old migrated security groups. After matching them up with the
security groups that came with Project Server 2007, it fixed the issue.
Thanks!
