Manage photos with access or web based service

Hi,

I've been asked by work to come up with a solution to manage 1500 and
growing photos. The criteria for a teh solution I've to come up with
is that someone can save some information on a photo, store it and
then be able to retrieve data based on that data. Simple.

I'm considering two options:
1. Develop an MS access system that allows a photo to be viewed.
-Select an add info form.
-In the Add Info form, a category as well as lots of other info on
the
photo is entered and the user selects save.
-The photo is filed on the server and all of the information as well
as a path to the image is saved in the Access db
-The user searches based on the category and other information
added

2. Use something like Gallery which appears to save photos in albums
and sub albums. I'm just not sure how well its search functionality
works.

I'd be really grateful if some of you could guide me in what you
think
is the better approach and why.

Thanks

And no, I don't work for them! :)

Bernard,

Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a quick look at it and it looks
like it could solve my problems.
