Manager field in Project Center

I've changed the Summary View in PWA to show the "Manager" of the project. I
created the original plan so I am listed as the owner. The person that is
the "manager" opened the project plan in Project Pro and republished
assignments. They checked the box to assign themselves as the manager.

Problem? The Manager field does not update with their name in PWA. Why not?

Which Summary view? Project Center? Detailed Project view? View resource
assignments? Where?

Oops! I should have read the Subject line in your original message. Sorry.

The Manager field you added to the Project Center page is actually the field
found when you click File - Properties. It is NOT the same Manager field
that designates the actual Manager of the project, set by clicking
Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and then selecting the "Become
the manager for these assignments" option. In the Properties dialog, the
Manager field actually represents YOUR manager, while the Author field
actually represents you, the author of the project. Therefore, under these
circumstances, I would recommend that the new manager of the project open
the project and then click File - Properties and change the Manager field
value. Hope this helps.

Hi Jody; the Manager fild in Properties very rarely gets updated. You are
probably better off defining an Enterprise Project text field (Project
Manager) and defining it as mandatory. That way you are certain to get
reasonably correct names.
