Managing non-working time

Jan Leeuwerink

Hi,

I just recently upgraded towards MSP Server 2003. I get
stuck now on working with administrative / non-working
time. This option seems not to be available. The
following message occurs when using "Notify your manager
of time you will not be available for project work":
======================================================
You are not assigned to any tasks on any administrative
project, such as vacation, sick, or bereavement.

To submit time against an administrative project, you
must be assigned to a task on that project for the time
period that you are unavailable for project work.

Contact your server administrator if you feel you have
received this message in error.
======================================================

Any ideas on how to work with the administrative projects?

The error message indicates that you have not created any administrative
projects in your system. To do so, the person responbible for tracking
nonworking time needs to do the following:

1. Log into Project Server through Microsoft Project Professional
2. Click File - New
3. Click the "On my computer" link in the sidepane on the left
4. Click the Enterprise Projects tab
5. Select the Administrative Time template and click OK
6. Select members of the project team and assign them to the desired
administrative tasks
7. Save and publish the project

Hope this helps.
