managing outlook 2003 data files

Hi everyone. Hope you can help in this regard. I recently upgraded to Outlook
Live in order to be able to use outlook connector with my hotmail addresses.
I also use outlook with a couple of other web mail addresses. On upgrading I
incidentally looked into my Personal Folders (in Data Files in Outlook Mail
setup in Control Panel) and found I had:

- 2 "Outlook" office data files
- 1 "Personal Folder" office data file
- 13 "Hotmail" office data files
- 2 "Gmail" office data files
- 4 Outlook .nst files

Also most of my mail prviously available has disappeared. I have a strong
feeling that they are within the other outlook office data file. Is there a
way to manage all these files (either by importing or somehow merging them)
as I feel this is not the number of files that should be present. I have
already backed all of them up. Please advise. Thank you.

if the files are listed in that dialog, they are in the profile. Press
Ctrl+6 in outlook to show the folder list- you should see all of the message
stores from there.

POP3 mail is stored in a *.pst and most likely in either one of the two
outlook office data files or the personal folders file.

Each Hotmail via the connector is stored in an *.ost or an *.nst. Using
http (webdav), they are stored in a *.pst.

IMAP accounts are stored in *.pst and include the name of the account.
