Managing text growth-shrinkage

Where can I find the rules on font sizes and the effects of expanding or
shrinking a symbol?

Sometimes, when I try to expand a symbold, the text grows a little and then
stops growing while the surrounding objects continue to grow.

Sometimes, when I try to shrink a symbold, the text stops shrinking at some
point while the surround objects continue to shrink.

Can I ensure that the text always scales smoothly up and down, or do
different font sizes have varying "stretchability" inherent?

I'm having the same issue. Has anyone responded to your question? There are
shapes with text inside them that come with visio and the text grows and
shrinks when I change the size of the shape. But when I create a new shape
and change its size the text has to be adjusted separately to make it scale
with the shape. Is there a way to group the text and the shape so they will
maintain the size relationship?

I found a way to do this but it's a awkward. If I type the text in another
program and save it as a jpg I can paste it into vision and group it with the
shape and the relationship between the text and the shape will increase and
decrease together as the shape gets bigger or smaller. But there has to be a
better solution. Anyone know the answer?
