Manually edit reverse engineered diagram

I reverse-engineered a SQL server database,
using "Database, Reverse Engineer".

How can I edit the shapes? When I try to ungroup, the
message says "Shape protection and/or layer properties
prevent complete execution of this command"

I have Visio Professional 2003 on Win XP.
