Many database connections

Shannon

We have recently added a server running Project Server 2007 using SharePoint
Services 3.0 on Windows Server 2003 R2.

When I check the activity on our SQLServer 2005 server, there are upwards of
70 database connections from the project server. There as many as 5
connections to a single project database.

This server does not see much activity at this point, so the number of
connections is at least a curiosity. Is a large number of connection to the
Database expected?

Thanks Shannon

Each thread from the queue service and each IIS /pwa worker thread can have
connections, so it may look like a large number.
