Map Shape - Metric vs US Units

L

Linda Adams

This is from 2003, so maybe it's corrected in 2007.

When I search for a county, I get two shapes, a metric one and a U.S. units
one. I currently have to manually look at the properties of each shape to
determine if it's a metric or U.S. The problem is that the map shapes are
not labeled consistently so that if you used all the shapes labeled with a
number, you wouldn't necessarily get all metrics shapes. It would be really
handy and time saving if the name had the variation in it--i.e., Ireland (M),
Ireland (U). Or at least, the shapes were consistently labeled.

Change your search method.

Go to the Options Dialog under the Tools menu and select the Shape Search
tab. At the bottom of the dialog under Results, check the box marked By
Group.

Next time you do a search, the result will be broken down by stencil, so you
can easily identify the metric shapes from the imperial shapes.
