MAPI event question

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for MAPI questions, but...
How do I get event notifications of NDR reports? I'm not seeing them using
the fnevNewMail flag on the store advise call. Do I need to hook into the
inbox contents table and watch for additions there? Or is there a better way?
