mapi32.dll corrupted or not found

When I try to start Outlook (or any other Office Professional 2003 product)
the Windows Installer begins to run and when I cancel it it says mapi32.dll
is corrupted. I don't have a problem with reinstalling Office, but I would
like to keep my mails from Outlook. I read somewhere else I should look for a
..pst file, but I can't find it anywhere. So I was wondering if there was
another way to get my mails back so I can keep them.

Outlook Express, but that has been installed from the beginning and I only
use it to check newsgroups. Apart from that, no.

See if running fixmapi.exe works. I think it is available and installed for
Outlook 2003.

Thanks, but it didn't work. The last step says to follow the on screen
instructions, but I don't get any. It just adds a mapi32.dll but Outlook
still doesn't work.

Try the detect and repair or a reinstall then. The Outlook PST file should
be there to back-up. It'ss possible hidden so include hidden files in the
search.
